1. Do you breathe through your nose or mouth during daytime and sleep?

Strictly 100% nasal breathing 24/7 (even during Zone 2 exercise and sleep). Nasal breathing during day, but sometimes wake with dry mouth. Frequent mouth breathing, especially when sitting or working. Chronic mouth breathing, loud snoring, or wake up gasping.

2. How long can you comfortably hold your breath after a normal, relaxed exhalation (BOLT Score)?

30+ seconds comfortably without air hunger or gasp upon resuming. 20 to 29 seconds. 10 to 19 seconds. Less than 10 seconds before desperate gasping.

3. Where does your body expand when you take a deep, slow breath?

360-degree expansion of the lower abdomen and ribcage; shoulders stay relaxed. Abdomen rises first, followed by chest. Upper chest and collarbones heave upwards; belly draws inward (paradoxical). Very shallow breathing, chronic neck and trapezius tightness.

4. Do you practice dedicated mindful breathing techniques (4-7-8, Box Breathing, Coherence)?

Yes, daily 5-10 minute session using our Zen Breathwork Pacer. Use breathwork occasionally when acutely stressed. Interested, but have not practiced consistently. Never engaged in formal breath pacing.
