Tree Bark Requires a Vigorous Decoction!
Willow bark (Salicis cortex) consists of tough, lignified fibrous tree bark. Simply pouring hot water over shredded bark in a mug will NOT extract the therapeutic salicin! You MUST simmer the bark in boiling water on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes!
